The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) is a premier medical college in India, which trains high quality doctors. It is located in Pune Cantonment in Pune in the state of Maharashtra. The college is managed by the Indian Armed Forces. The AFMC was set up in 1948 in the immediate post-world war period.
The Armed Forces Medical College has multiple roles to perform. These are primarily training of medical undergraduates and post-graduates, dental postgraduates, nursing cadets and paramedical staff.
