All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) is the largest and oldest trade union of bank employees in India. It is one of the premier trade unions in our country.
AIBEA is guided by its twin policies of
(a) Progress of the banking industry to enable it to play its due role innational development and
(b) Protecting andpromoting the interest of the bank employees.
It was founded in 1946 on the 20th of April in Kolkata. They were being paid paltry wages with no regulated service conditions at all. It was a rule of hire and fire. Bank employees were groaning but did not have the necessary courage to form unions.
