Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Chennai (DBHPS) was established to spread the spread the Hindi language in the south India.

Father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi has started the DBHPS in 1928 and was the president till 1947. The sabha was upgraded to the university level during Thiru.Vembuy Anjeneya Sharma’s regime.
