V. K. Murthy cameraman. He provided some of Indian cinema’s most breathtaking images in starkly contrasted black and white. V. K. Murthy is the one who created mesmerizing effects with his cinematography received the prestigious IIFA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005.
Shri V K Murthy has been chosen for the Dada Saheb Phalke Award for the year 2008. The award is conferred annually by the Government of India for outstanding contributions to films, based on the recommendations of a Committee of eminent persons.
Shri Murthy would be the 56th recipient of the Dada Saheb Phalke Award. The award for a particular year is given along with the National Film Awards. The Hon’ble President of India would be shortly conferring the award on Shri Murthy. The Award carries a Cash Prize of Rs. 10 lakh, a Swarna Kamal and a Shawl.

I am not at all happy with the govt award selection committee…..
Always they recognise the talent only after our talent been reconised by others.
Govt committee always do eye wash work, they never give sight to blind, they always salute highlighted star but not the scattered one.
